Cantor Richard Cohn founded Kol Zimrah Jewish Community Singers in 1997 and conducted the choir for nine years. Cantor Cohn currently serves Temple Emanu-El in Dallas, Texas, following his 19 year association with North Shore Congregation Israel in Glencoe, IL. Since 2001, he has been president of the American Conference of Cantors, the professional Organization of the Reform Jewish cantorate. He is also a member of the Union of American Hebrew Congregation Board of Trustees. In addition, Cantor Cohn has served for many years on the conducting staff of the North American Jewish Choral Festival and has been a member of the Olin-Sang-Ruby Union Institute summer camp faculty in Wisconsin. His musical activities in the wider community have included numerous vocal solo appearances with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, both in Orchestra Hall and at the Ravinia Festival. Cantor Cohn has frequently interpreted the cantorial solos in Ernest Bloch's Avodath Hakodesh (Sacred Service), including performances with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra.
